inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The South Kalimantan Regional Police's Narcotics Criminal Investigation Directorate held a press conference on Tuesday afternoon (2/24/2026) regarding the disclosure of a major narcotics trafficking case.
Police seized 29,944.33 grams (29.9 kg) of methamphetamine and 15,056 ecstasy pills with a net weight of 5,767.47 grams from a courier.
South Kalimantan Regional Police Public Relations Chief, Senior Superintendent Adam Erwindi, stated in a statement that South Kalimantan Regional Police Chief Inspector General Rosyanto Yudha Hermawan, saw this case was a major disclosure at the start of Ramadan.
"This case is an interprovincial network connecting Central Kalimantan and South Kalimantan, and is strongly suspected of being affiliated with an international network controlled by a drug dealer with the initials FP alias M," concluded Adam.
The arrested suspect, identified as IW (32), lives in two residential addresses: one at Pasir Rancajatake, Muara Ciujung Timur Village, Rangkasbitung District, Lebak Regency, Banten; and one at Maduhara Street, Graha Maduhara Complex, Kereng Bangkurai Village, Sebangau District, Palangkaraya City, Central Kalimantan.
The South Kalimantan Regional Police Chief explained that the arrests began on Friday (2/20/2026) at around 2:15 a.m. Officers from the South Kalimantan Regional Police Narcotics Criminal Investigation Directorate received information from the public that IW frequently transacted and delivered methamphetamine and ecstasy.
Based on this information, the team immediately conducted an investigation by collecting and analyzing scientific data to track IW. After successfully confirming the target's location, officers immediately arrested and searched the designated location.
During the search, officers found evidence hidden in an orange backpack carried by IW. Inside the bag, they found 30 packages of methamphetamine and three large packages containing thousands of ecstasy pills. IW and the evidence were then taken to the South Kalimantan Regional Police Headquarters for further legal proceedings.
Preliminary investigation revealed the method used to deceive officers. The methamphetamine was neatly packaged in gold packaging with a tiger logo. Meanwhile, thousands of ecstasy pills were packaged in large white packaging. All of the evidence was placed inside the suspect's orange backpack.
South Kalimantan Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Rosyanto Yudha Hermawan, urged the public to maintain public order and security during the holy month of Ramadan by increasing their religious practices and avoiding bad behavior such as drug use, illegal racing, and brawls.
"Let us fight drugs together by providing the police with information on drug trafficking in South Kalimantan so that we can eradicate and arrest drug offenders for the sake of the future of our younger generation," urged Yudha.
