inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The South Jakarta Sub-regional Metropolitan Police conducted surprise urine tests to prevent drug abuse among its personnel at their headquarters.
"This urine test demonstrates our commitment. Before we take action against people who abuse drugs, we must first ensure that our bodies, our internal environment, are clean of these illicit substances," said the Head of Public Relations for the South Jakarta Metro Police, Superintendent Murodih, on Wednesday (2/25/2026).
The activity, which took place after the morning roll call, took place under the strict supervision of the Profession and Security Division.
Urine samples were taken from officers, non-commissioned officers, and even civil servants (ASN) within the Police Department, and were tested directly by a medical team from the Medical and Health Section (Dokkes).
"This activity is a routine activity conducted incidentally (impromptu) as a function of inherent control and supervision of members," said Murodih.
The South Jakarta Sub-regional Metropolitan Police emphasized that they will not tolerate any member testing positive for drug use. Strict sanctions, in accordance with the Indonesian National Police Professional Code of Ethics and general criminal regulations, have been prepared for those who violate them.
"If anyone tests positive, we will of course process them according to applicable legal procedures, without discrimination. This is to maintain the institution's dignity and public trust in the National Police," explained Murodih.
