inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Cilincing Sector Police in North Jakarta are investigating a man identified as GH (44) who died after being run over by a slide loader, a heavy equipment used to transport containers, operated by a man identified as AS (36) at the Smart Depot, KBN Marunda, Cilincing District, North Jakarta, on Thursday (2/26/2026).

"The victim was not an employee of the Smart Depot, and is suspected of working as a shipping expedition," said Cilincing Sector Police Chief, Police Senior Bobi Subasri, in Jakarta on Friday (2/27/2026).

He said the victim was allegedly unaware that the location was a container transport operation area, and the operator may have failed to see him because he was in a blind spot.

External examination results from the North Jakarta Sub-regional Metro Police revealed that the victim's body was damaged from the abdomen down to the ground, making it unidentifiable, while the body from the abdomen up was identifiable.

"The preliminary suspicion is that the victim died after being run over by the side loader," said Bobi.

He stated that officers had processed the crime scene and secured video footage from surveillance cameras at the scene. Officers had also set up police tape at the scene and interviewed several witnesses.

"The victim's body has been taken to the Kramat Jati Police Hospital, East Jakarta, for a post-mortem examination to complete the investigation file," Bobi said.

He further stated that the incident occurred on Thursday (February 26th) at around 3:21 PM. According to witnesses, the victim died after being run over by a side loader driven by the defendant.

CCTV footage from the scene showed the victim walking toward the electricity substation.
Then, from behind, the side loader driven by the defendant approached and ran over the victim.

Meanwhile, according to the defendant, AS (36), he claimed not to have seen the victim walking.

"The reported party learned of the incident after being told by the first witness via walkie-talkie," Bobi concluded.
