Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Presidential Special Envoy for Climate and Energy, Hashim S. Djojohadikusumo raises his confidence that the government’s plan to build three million houses annually will help reduce the cement industry’s oversupply by driving up demand.

“As long as President Prabowo Subianto is in office, the housing program will continue,” he said at the ESG Sustainability Forum 2025 in Jakarta on Sunday (2/2/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.

He noted that Qatar and its private sector have committed to financing 4 to 6 million homes, while the UAE has pledged to support at least one million. 

Additional funding from China, Turkey, India, and Singapore is also expected, further stimulating growth in 185 industries tied to housing, including cement production.

At the same event, Semen Indonesia Group (SIG) CEO Donny Arsal reaffirmed the company’s commitment to sustainability, using AI and renewable energy to cut carbon emissions and make cement production more environmentally friendly.
