1.41 Million Cars Return to Greater Jakarta After Long Weekend

Inp.polri.go.id - Karawang. A total of 1.41 million cars returned to Greater Jakarta following the Islamic day of Isra Mi’raj and Lunar New Year holidays, marking a 14.3% increase from normal traffic levels of 1.09 million cars, according to state-owned highway operator PT Jasa Marga.

PT Jasa Marga Director of Operations Fitri Wiyanti said on Sunday (2/2/2025) that from 25 January to 1 February 2025 as many as 1, 1.43 million cars had left Greater Jakarta through four main toll gates: Cikampek Utama (Trans Java route), Kalihurip (Bandung route), Ciawi (Puncak route), and Cikupa (Merak route).

“Traffic volume leaving Greater Jakarta increased by 11.3% compared to normal levels of 1.28 million cars,” she said, as quoted by antaranews.com.

PT Jasa Marga is implementing strategies to improve traffic management for the upcoming Eid homecoming season, including road widening, infrastructure upgrades, and digital tools like the Jasamarga Integrated Digitalmaps (JID).

“Technology-based traffic management, including Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) for rest areas, will enhance public service efficiency,” said PT Jasa Marga Business Development Director M. Agus Setiawan.
