inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Head of National Narcotics Agency, Marthinus Hukom says 312,000 teenagers in Indonesia must be saved from drugs abuse.
He revealed that those teenagers were caught in drug abuse cases due to high curiosity and peer relationships.
"According to our prevalence (general) survey data, there are approximately 312,00 Indonesian teenagers who caught abusing drugs," said Marthinus on Wednesday (11/13/2024).
He explained that there are many causes that can attract the teenagers to get caught and trapped in the web of drug abuse.
According to Marthinus, preventive measures by fostering families and the surrounding environment through the Drug-Free Village (Desa Bersinar) program are one way to prevent the illegal activities.
On the other hand, Marthinus reminded teenagers to always remember that drugs will ruin their future, and should be avoided at all cost.
"Drug abuse destroys morals, the future, and ultimately kills humanity," said Marthinus
Additionally, teenagers who have been trapped in drug abuse will find it more difficult to find their 'way home' again as the addiction is far greater and often more difficult to control.
"Once you fall into it, you will continue to fall into the darkness of drug abuse crimes," concluded Marthinus
