inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) has again deployed 322 personnel from the INP Education and Training Institute (Lemdiklat) to strengthen wildfire prevention efforts.
These hundreds of personnel are being deployed as part of the Education Task Force to educate the public and evaluate various issues that could potentially trigger forest and land fires in several areas.
The Head of INP Lemdiklat, Commissioner General R.Z. Panca Putra Simanjuntak, stated that the second wave of the Education Task Force involves students from the INP Staff and High Leadership School, the INP Staff and Middle Leadership School, and the INP Professional Development School.
"Today, we have gathered them in accordance with the direction of INP Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo and Vice Chief Commissioner General Dedi Prasetyo, following up on President Prabowo Subianto's directive to deploy an Education Task Force, specifically consisting of students and personnel from the INP Headquarters," Panca said at the INP STIK-PTIK Building in Jakarta on Monday (9/7/2026).
The 322 personnel will be deployed to six regional police regions: the East Kalimantan, West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, Riau, and South Sumatra Regional Police.
The personnel will carry out 10-day assignments, focusing on educational activities, problem mapping, and strengthening forest and land fire prevention strategies in their respective regions.
"They are carrying out these activities as an integral part of their educational program, which is part of the current curriculum, namely the Domestic Work Lecture (KKDN) and Field Work Practice (PKL)," he explained.
Panca explained that the deployed personnel are not only tasked with providing education to the public. They will also evaluate various issues and conditions in the field related to forest and land fire prevention efforts.
With their experience and capacity as students preparing for managerial positions, they are expected to be able to view forest and land fire issues more holistically, including from a strategic and operational management perspective.
After completing their field assignments, the personnel will provide input based on a scientific approach and operational concept. The evaluation results are expected to provide guidance for improvements by INP, regional and central governments in strengthening wildfire prevention.
"They will evaluate the operational management strategy related to forest fire prevention through an operational approach," he said.
Regarding departures, Panca stated that his team is still awaiting confirmation of the flight schedule as flight routes are affected by the eruption of Mount Anak Krakatau.
