36 Percent of Student Vulnerable to Bullying: National Assessment Reports

Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta.  Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) reveals the result of National Assessment in 2022 where there are 36,31% of students potentially bullied. “The problem of bullying or any other acts of violence in school is very concerning,” says Head of the Character Strengthening Center of Kemendikbudristek, Ruspita Putri Utami on her official statement in Jakarta, Friday (10/20/2023). She says since 2021, her party has been working together with UNICEF Indonesia for Roots technical guidance in 10,708 educational units, trained 20,101 teacher facilitators, and has made 51,370 student agents of change. The goals for 2023 is there would be offline and online Roots technical guidance in 2,750 educational units from Junior High School, Senior High School, and Vocational School, and refreshed 180 national facilitators. Roots has become the anti-violence program, particularly bullying. For two years of its implementation, the program has driven 34,14% educational units to form anti-violence team. Kemendikbudristek appreciates North Sumatra provincial government for their effort and achievements in preventing violence in schools. “We urge all educational units in North Sumatra to immediately form Violence Prevention and Handling Team, because they would be the vanguard in efforts to prevent violence in schools,” says Rusprita.
