inp.polri.go.id - Riau. The Riau Regional Police's Phase II Bridge Infrastructure Construction and Renovation Emergency Task Force continues to demonstrate its commitment to assisting remote communities by building inter-regional access.
As of Sunday (5/17/2026), 42 bridges across various areas in Riau Province had been successfully completed and were beginning to be used by the community to support their daily activities.
The bridge construction and repair involved a joint force of personnel from the Mobile Brigade Corps, the Samapta Directorate, and the Water and Air Directorate of the Riau Regional Police, with a total force of approximately 120 personnel.
This program supports President Prabowo Subianto's policy of improving rural connectivity and providing safer access for communities in remote areas.
The completed bridges are located in several areas, including Siak, Dumai, Rokan Hilir, Rokan Hulu, Kampar, Bengkalis, Indragiri Hilir, Indragiri Hulu, Pelalawan, Kuantan Singingi, and the Meranti Islands.
This infrastructure serves as a vital route for people to reach schools, gardens, places of worship, and even centers of village economic activity.
Riau Regional Police Mobile Brigade Corps Commander, Senior Superintendent I Ketut Gede Adi Wibawa, stated that the bridge construction was not just a physical project, but a tangible manifestation of the Indonesian National Police (INP) commitment to the community's needs.
"We want to ensure that the public, especially schoolchildren and farmers, have safe and adequate access to carry out their daily activities," he said.
He added that the construction process is ongoing, with work on 35 other bridges currently in the construction and preparation stages.
"Personnel in the field continue to work optimally despite facing challenging weather and challenging terrain. We hope that all of this development will bring significant benefits and provide new hope for communities in remote areas of Riau," concluded I Ketut Gede Adi Wibawa.
