"Throughout August 2022, 56 gambling cases have been handled by the Aceh Police and their ranks. Most of them are online gambling cases," said the Head of Public Relations of the Aceh Police. Previously, he said that the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, ordered his staff to eradicate all forms of gambling crimes, whether carried out online or not. Based on the order, the Aceh Regional Police Chief Inspector General Ahmad Haydar, continued the effort in eradicating the gambling down to its root. He then ordered the ranks of police to its smallest unit, the sectoral police, to continue realize the commitment of the National Police Chief. "Dozens of gambling were carried out with various patterns and modes. The perpetrators will be charged with Aceh Qanun Number 6 of 2014 concerning the law of jinayat. The threat of punishment is a maximum of 45 lashes or a prison sentence of 45 months," said the Head of Public Relations of the Aceh Police. Commissioner Winardy, said the police needed an active role from the community in eradicating gambling by reporting any gambling practices that they found. "If the public knows any places or gambling practices, don't be afraid to report them to us. There is no need to be afraid that someone will back them, because we will prosecute even the officers if found guilty.
