Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Bekasi Metropolitan Sub-regional Police arrested three suspects on Thursday for a calculated acid attack against a middle-aged man in Tambun Selatan, utilizing CCTV footage and witness accounts to track the fugitives.

"This is a serious crime and our primary concern, as we will take firm action against any planned violence that endangers human lives," said Bekasi Police Chief Senior Superintendent Sumarni on Friday (3/4/2026), as reported by antaranews.com.

The primary suspect, identified as PBU, allegedly masterminded the operation by recruiting MS as the executioner and SR as the getaway driver for a promised fee of Rp 9 million. The victim, a 54-year-old man identified as TW, suffered severe chemical burns to his face and chest after being doused with sulfuric acid during the Monday morning assault.

Following a brief manhunt, the tactical team arrested the group across various locations in Bekasi. All three perpetrators now face heavy criminal charges for aggravated assault as investigators finalize the legal proceedings to ensure transparent justice for the victim.
