Inp.polri.go.id - Bogor. Acting Bogor Regent Asmawa Tosepu offered his condolences following the death of a tourist, who passed away due to suspected exhaustion while visiting Puncak, West Java.

Acting Regent Asmawa noted that this incident highlights the importance of improving Puncak as a premier tourist destination. 

More than 140,000 vehicles, ranging from motorcycles to six-wheeled trucks, passed through the Puncak tourist route within 24 hours on Sunday, leading to massive traffic jam.

The tourist, identified as NM (56) from Bambu Apus, East Jakarta, fell ill after visiting Agro Wisata Gunung Mas destination in Cisarua on Sunday and died during an evacuation to a nearby mosque. 

Police suspect an underlying health condition contributed to her death.
