inp.polri.go.id – The West Sulawesi Regional Police (Polda Sulbar) established a post and field kitchen after 5.8 magnitude earthquake rocked the Mamuju Regency and its surroundings. The posts and field kitchens were established in three locations that became centers of community evacuation, including Manakarra Stadium, Akhmad Kirang Field, and on Mamuju Kalukku Axis Road. The Head of the West Sulawesi Regional Police (Kapolda Sulbar), Inspector General Verdianto I Bitticaca, who went directly to conduct the survey, said that the post and field kitchen were established to help the people in providing food for the displaced residents. He continued, the Two-Star General said that this was part of police’s concern to the community who were in trouble. "We have mobilized personnel to establish a command post and a field kitchen to serve the community who are in trouble. Later, there will also hundreds of food supplies that will be distributed to the people," said Kapolda Sulbar. Moreover, he appealed the entire community to remain calm not to panic while also remain vigilant, and pay attention to the appeal of the Government. "You can be vigilant but please don't panic, you have to stay calm in the face of this disaster, and the most important thing is to keep follow the instructions from the government regarding disaster management," added Kapolda Sulbar.
