Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. National Agency of Drug and Food Control (BPOM) secures 86,034 products who did not met the safety requirement ahead Christmas and 2024 New Year Eve holiday. From the 86,034 products, 52.90% are products without a distribution permit (TIE), 41.41% are expired goods, and 5.69% are the damaged goods. The total value of the thousands of products reached IDR 1.6 billion. “BPOM committed to always protect the public from dangerous products through monitoring and raids held routinely or during special occasion to provide valid info to the general public particularly at this time ahead Christmas and 2024 New Year Eve celebration,” says BPOM on Friday (12/22/2023). The findings of illegal products commonly are from China, India, Malaysia, Thailand, United States, Brazil, and Singapore. In light of this findings, BPOM has demonstrates the commitment to constantly inform the public regarding the products that are expired and damaged through communication, information, and education from central BPOM.
