inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Mahfud MD commended the Indonesian National Police (INP) for successfully uncovering 38,943 drug cases from January to October 2025. Of these thousands of cases, the police also confiscated narcotics evidence totaling 197.71 tons.
"In principle, every successful task in the war against drugs must be appreciated," Mahfud said in a written statement on Saturday (10/25/2025).
Mahfud assessed that this achievement aligns with President Prabowo Subianto's directives in Asta Cita, particularly the commitment to eradicating drugs. He emphasized that INP must continue to maintain discipline and consistency in carrying out their duties.
"Keep improving the professionalism and discipline of the police in handling these drug cases. Control within the police force must also be maintained," he said.
Furthermore, Mahfud emphasized the importance of internal oversight to prevent any officers from being involved in drug networks. He emphasized that leaks in the handling process could damage public trust.
"The most important thing is to ensure there are no leaks, such as cases that are not solved or evidence is lost due to collusion involving officers," he stressed.
Previously, INP recorded that from January to October 2025, they had arrested more than 51,000 drug abusers. The Head of INP Criminal Investigation Agency, Syahardiantono, described this success as clear evidence of his institution's commitment.
