Inp.polri.go.id - Labuan Bajo. Air Asia flight QZ 860 from Jakarta to Labuan Bajo experienced an incident where the aircraft's wheel went off the taxiway after landing safely at Komodo Labuan Bajo Airport in East Nusa Tenggara, on Monday (19/2/2024).
"The flight carrying 151 passengers landed at 10.20 am. All crew and passengers are confirmed safe and have been evacuated," said Indonesia AirAsia's Manager of Public Relations & Communication, Ageng Wibowo Leksono, in a statement.
Further investigation into the incident, Ageng continued, is being conducted by the Indonesia AirAsia team along with the authorities of Komodo Labuan Bajo Airport, antaranews.com reported.
"In relation to this, Indonesia AirAsia ensures that passengers receive compensation for the delay in accordance with the Minister of Transportation Regulation," he said.
The Head of the Airport Operator Unit Komodo Labuan Bajo, Ceppy Triono, said that the Air Asia aircraft experienced a taxiway excursion, where the aircraft deviated from the marked taxiway line.
He explained that the airport's operations have resumed to normal as all passengers were safely disembarked, with the aircraft being safely towed to the apron.
