The Head of Security Maintenance Board of Indonesian National Police (INP) Commissioner General Mohammad Fadil Imran has announced that the INP patrols will now be integrated under the name "Patroli Perintis Presisi" (Pioneering Precision Patrol) as part of efforts to enhance the organization's public image.

During the launch ceremony of the Patroli Perintis Presisi at the Polda Metro Jaya Field on Wednesday (14/6/2023), he stated, "We will no longer have patrols conducted by teams such as Badik, Viper, Raimas Back Bone, Jaguar, Kobra, or Sabhara using detective methods."

Explaining the rationale behind the patrol's name change, he emphasized that patrol activities are primarily preventive rather than enforcement-oriented measures. He reiterated, "Our patrols are intended to prevent incidents, not merely to respond to them."

"Patrols are meant to be proactive in nature, focusing on prevention rather than enforcement. I want to emphasize that patrols are all about prevention, not enforcement," he emphasized.

The establishment of Patroli Perintis Presisi is a response to the dynamic nature of public security and order, he added.

"Illegal street racing, clashes involving motorcycle gangs, and other issues that have been causing distress within the community. Addressing these challenges requires more than just city patrols using two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles without a comprehensive approach," he said.

These circumstances have motivated he to seek a proper and comprehensive solution that can effectively prevent or minimize disruptions to public security and order.
