inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Law Supratman Andi Agtas stated that all villages and sub-districts in 38 Indonesian provinces now have Legal Aid Posts (Posbankum).
He stated that Posbankum should be viewed as a collaborative ecosystem for resolving disputes within the community, prioritizing restorative justice.
"This is where village heads and urban village heads play a vital role as peace judges or peacemakers in their respective villages," Supratman said at the inauguration of Posbankum in Manado, North Sulawesi, on Thursday (2/26/2026).
Through Posbankum, he said, village heads and urban village heads are strengthened in their roles as peace judges or peacemakers in their respective areas.
He added that trained paralegals will provide legal information, facilitate initial mediation, and connect communities with accredited Legal Aid Organizations (OPBH) when needed.
Supratman assessed that strengthening Posbankum in North Sulawesi is aimed at expanding dispute resolution through a restorative justice approach.
Moreover, he continued, the people of North Sulawesi are known for their noble philosophy, founded by Sam Ratulangi, "Sitou Timou Tumou Tou," which means humans live to humanize others.
"This serves as a moral foundation that aligns with the spirit of Posbankum's founding," he said.
Furthermore, he mentioned that with the spirit of "Torang Samua Basudara," Posbankum is believed to exist to create harmony in social relations that lead to justice in society, including for the poor and vulnerable.
