Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Archery has been confirmed as one of Indonesia’s priority sports to receive state budget funding for the 2025 national training camp.
“The government has designated priority sports for APBN funding in 2025, and archery is one of them. Why archery? Because of our international achievements,” said Arsyad Rasyid, the Chairman of the Indonesian Archery Association (PERPANI), in an Instagram video on Tuesday (25/2/2025), as reported by antaranews.com.
The national archery team earned a spot at the Paris 2024 Olympics, finishing fifth in the women’s singles. At the 2023 Asian Games, they secured two bronze medals for Indonesia. Looking ahead, the team will compete in the World Archery Championships this year and aims for the overall title at the 2025 SEA Games.
Currently, ten athletes, including Riau Ega Agata Salsabila and Diananda Choirunisa, are undergoing training. Their 2023 Asian Games bronze in the men’s and mixed team recurve ended a 41-year medal drought for Indonesia in archery.
