Inp.polri.go.id - Kuala Lumpur. A total of 133 Indonesian citizens were repatriated on Tuesday after completing sentences in Malaysia for immigration violations.
Jati H. Winarto, the Consular Coordinator at the Indonesian Consulate General (KJRI) in Johor Bahru, said on Tuesday (25/2/2025) that the repatriation was conducted through Pasir Gudang Port in Johor Bahru. “
This repatriation is part of our commitment to protecting Indonesians abroad,” he said, as quoted by antaranews.com.
The process involved collaboration between the Indonesian Consulate General in Johor Bahru, the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, and Malaysia’s Immigration Department in Putrajaya. The Indonesians were transferred by ferry to Sri Bintan Pura Port, Tanjung Pinang, Riau Islands.
The repatriated Indonesians had been detained in six Malaysian immigration depots for offenses including overstaying, misuse of work permits, and lacking valid residency documents.
