inp.polri.go.id - Depok. Depok Sub-regional Police reveals the modus operandi of the baby selling syndicate that was successfully uncovered by the investigation team. This syndicate operated in the Java-Bali region.

Depok Sub-regional Police Chief, Senior Superintendent Arya Perdana said that in uncovering this syndicate, investigators had named eight suspects, namely RS (24), AN (22), DA (27), MD (32), SU (24), DA (23), RK (30), and I Made Aryadana (41). The suspects themselves had been communicating with their targets since they were still pregnant. Then, one day after giving birth, a transaction was carried out for the baby and its placenta.

To the parents of the babies, the suspects buy the babies ranging from IDR 10-Rp15 million. While to the buyers, the suspects sold them at IDR 45 million.

"We are still investigating the profits distributed to each suspect," he explained on Wednesday (9/18/2024).

According to the police chief, until now it is not known how many babies have been traded in total.
