inp.polri.go.id - Bali. Head of Tabana Sub-regional Police, Superintendent Chandra CK says that the orphanage that houses the sale of babies has been operating since November 2023.

“It is true, but the place is now empty,” says Chandra when confirmed on Wednesday (9/18/2024).

He explains that the place is operating like any other orphanage, but in its operations it also serves as a shelter for babies sold by a syndicate from Depok, West Java.

"Currently, the pregnant mothers and one baby have been moved to a safe house by our unit," he explained.

To investigators, the pregnant mothers said that they were staying at the orphanage as there were no delivery costs. They confessed that they did not intend to sell their babies when they were born. Further examination of them was carried out by the Depok Sub-regional Police.
