Inp.polri.go.id - Denpasar. The Bali Regional Police urged the public to remain vigilant against human trafficking schemes disguised as high-paying job opportunities abroad or in other regions.
Bali Police Head of Public Relations Senior Superintendent Ariasandy cautioned citizens not to be easily lured by promises of high salaries with unverified recruitment processes, as these tactics often lead to illegal exploitation. Perpetrators frequently promise quick, cost-free processing while withholding victims' personal documents and forcing them into unauthorized work conditions.
"Crime from human trafficking not only causes material loss to victims, but also physical and psychological harm," he said.
To prevent human trafficking, the police advise job seekers to verify that recruitment agencies hold official permits from the Ministry of Manpower, carefully review employment contracts before signing, and never surrender original personal identification documents to unauthorized parties.
Bali Police reiterated their commitment to cracking down on human trafficking networks across their jurisdiction and encouraged members of the public to report suspected cases to the nearest police station or via the 24-hour toll-free 110 hotline.
