Inp.polri.go.id - Bandung. The Narcotics Investigation Unit of the Bandung City Metropolitan Sub-regional Police uncovered a clandestine laboratory producing electric cigarette liquid (vape liquid) infused with Class I synthetic narcotics.
Police arrested two suspects, identified as RGP (35) and OBP (34), seizing finished liquid cartridges and chemical precursors valued at Rp 1.5 billion across operations in Sukasari and Margaasih on 14 September 2026.
Bandung Police Head Narcotics Unit Senior Inspector Oliesta Ageng Wicaksana said on Thursday (17/9/2026) that forensic testing confirmed the liquid contained MDMB-4en-PINACA, a potent synthetic cannabinoid.
"This substance triggers extreme dependence and severe neurological damage," he explained during a press conference in Bandung. "Its effects far exceed typical intoxication, potentially causing seizures, loss of consciousness, acute poisoning, and fatal overdose."
Officers seized 400 pre-filled vape cartridges, heating apparatus, and chemical solvents, including propylene glycol and vegetable glycerin, as reported by antaranews.com.
Authorities intercepted the distribution network before the cartridges could be marketed at Rp 3.5 million per unit. The suspects face life imprisonment or the death penalty under Law No. 35/2009 on Narcotics.
