Inp.polri.go.id - Pangkalpinang. The Special Crimes Investigation Directorate of the Bangka Belitung Islands Regional Police handed over two corruption suspects and evidence to the Bangka Belitung Islands Prosecutor’s Office on Thursday (9/7/2026).
The transfer came after a declaration by prosecutors that the case files were complete regarding the alleged embezzlement of National Sports Committee (KONI) grant funds in West Bangka Regency for the 2020–2024 period.
The two suspects are identified as MA, the former Chairman of KONI West Bangka, and MEP, the former Treasurer.
The case targets the misappropriation of regional budget grants allocated to KONI, which totaled Rp 17.4 billion across the four-year period. Police investigations revealed systematic irregularities, including fictitious accountability reports, budget use breaking official work plans, and unexecuted cash transfers to recipients.
State financial audits confirmed that the recurring administrative violations resulted in state losses amounting to Rp 835,422,845. During the investigation, authorities seized two laptops, various financial documents, and Rp 119 million in cash. The suspects face anti-corruption charges carrying a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and a Rp 2 billion fine.
