Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Banten Regional Police on Wednesday warned residents to heighten vigilance as Mount Anak Krakatau remains at Alert Level II, with continued tremors and volcanic signals recorded.

“Mount Anak Krakatau is still at Level II. Thin white crater smoke and ongoing tremors have been detected,” said Acting Banten Police Head of Public Relations Superintendent Meryadi on Wednesday (10/12/2025), as reported by antaranews.com.

Authorities remind the public to avoid the two-kilometer danger zone around the crater, in line with the Volcanology and Geological Disaster Mitigation Centre (PVMBG) recommendations. Police also cautioned about moderate waves in the waters of South Pandeglang, West Sunda Strait, and South Lebak, urging fishermen and sailors to monitor official advisories.

Weather conditions across Banten remain unstable, with BMKG forecasting light to moderate rain in Serang, Pandeglang, Lebak, and Tangerang. Residents are advised to limit non-essential outdoor activities during severe weather and ensure home safety.

Banten Police have deployed personnel to two disaster-response posts equipped with SAR gear to accelerate emergency actions.
