Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta administration is set to host the "Jakarta Light Festival" at Bundaran Hotel Indonesia (Bundaran HI) roundabout on February 13, 2026.
This upcoming event, which features a lantern decoration competition among city buildings, serves as a festive continuation of the "Jakarta Penuh Warna" (JPW), which literally means Jakarta full of colour, celebration held at the same iconic landmark this Sunday (8/2/2026) to welcome the Lunar New Year.
"Jakarta needs the creativity, care, and courage of its young people; an inclusive and colorful future for the city is born from their active roles," said Deputy Governor Rano Karno during the JPW festivities, as quoted by antaranews.com.
Sunday's preliminary event showcased a diverse array of attractions, including traditional lion dances (barongsai) and football skill demonstrations by local youth to build excitement for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Moving toward Jakarta’s 500th anniversary in 2027, the administration plans to increase international-scale public events that blend culture, sports, and community empowerment.
