inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs (Menko Polkam) Budi Gunawan appreciated the success of the Indonesian Navy, National Narcotics Agency (BNN), Customs, and Indonesian National Police (INP) for thwarting the smuggling of two tons of crystal methamphetamine in Batam, Monday (5/27/2025).
"Eradicating drugs is not the task of one agency or institution alone. This is a shared task that requires the involvement of all elements of society, from the government, security forces, media, educational institutions, religious and community leaders, to the community itself," noted Budi Gunawan, said by the Secretary of the Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs, Mochammad Hasan in an official press release, quoted from Antaranews.
He said the success of uncovering this drug case was due to collaboration between agencies in the drug desk under the coordination of the Coordinating Ministry for Political and Security Affairs.
Hasan hopes that today's arrests can save the nation's young generation from the trap of drugs. He also hopes that these arrests can be a trigger for other law enforcement officers to uncover other drug cases.
"Drugs have become a serious threat to social, economic stability, and even national security. Therefore, we must all work together to eradicate drug trafficking throughout Indonesia," concluded Hasan.
