inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT) is strengthening national resilience through a socialization program preventing violent extremism that leads to radicalism at Jamblang Highschool 1, Cirebon, West Java.
BNPT Head, Eddy Hartono, stated that the activity was carried out to ensure students have strong digital literacy skills and are not easily provoked by various violent content.
"The content that exposes students is mostly influenced by elements that lead to violence," said Eddy on Wednesday (4/22/2026).
He revealed that research reveals at least three main factors that make students vulnerable to radical content on social media: bullying, lack of a place to complain. parental issues, and economic factors.
In addition to receiving training from BNPT, students also participate in the discussion with the Terrorism Prevention Coordination Forum (FKPT) and the West Java Province Peace Ambassadors.
The event concluded with the collaborative creation of a video with the slogan "Reject Radicalism" as a commitment by students to maintaining peace.
Previously, Eddy explained that extreme violent content can indoctrinate children in just 3-6 months. The accelerated exposure in the digital space has resulted in a faster development of understanding compared to the 3-6 years it took in previous years through face-to-face meetings.
"Previously, radicalization at the face-to-face level, before digital, took 3-6 years, but in this digital era, it only takes 3-6 months. People can be brainwashed into extremism or radicalism," he said.
He also noted that children and women are particularly vulnerable to the perception of extreme violence in the digital space.
