Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta BPJS Kesehatan, Indonesia’s national health insurance agency, clarified on Monday (14/7/2025) that there is no policy limiting the number of inpatient days for the National Health Insurance (JKN) participants.
“There is no such policy requiring patients to leave after three days. If this happens, it is not from BPJS,” said BPJS Kesehatan President Director Ali Ghufron Mukti during a public expose event, as quoted by antaranews.com.
He encouraged patients facing such restrictions to report incidents via BPJS complaint channels. Any violation may impact the contractual relationship between BPJS and the healthcare facility, possibly leading to warnings or termination.
Ali Ghufron emphasized BPJS-partnered hospitals must uphold six key service promises, including no out-of-pocket costs, no document photocopies required, availability of medicines, and unlimited treatment duration.
As of end-2024, JKN enrollment reached 278.1 million people, covering over 98% of Indonesia’s population.
