Inp.polri.go.id - Denpasar. A Canadian man was deported from Bali on Saturday (7/9/2024) by the Denpasar Immigration Detention Center for establishing a fictitious company.

According to Gede Dudy Duwita, the Head of the Denpasar Immigration Detention Center, the Canadian, identified as  JGC (53),  entered Indonesia in October 2020 on a tourist visa and later established a company, PT BKG,  in February 2021, becoming its investor.

The company, allegedly involved in various sectors, including consulting, graphic design, retail, and photography, was found to be nonexistent at its registered address, according to antaranews.com.

He had converted his visa to a limited stay permit for investors, but investigations by Ngurah Rai Immigration revealed inconsistencies in his business operations and residence. He also failed to report his change of address after moving in March 2024 and was uncooperative during inspections.

His guarantor admitted that the company had failed to meet its tax obligations, and further scrutiny showed he was also involved in marketing villas. As a result, his limited stay permit was revoked, and he was deported to Toronto, Canada.

Bali has deported 157 foreign nationals so far this year.
