Tribratanews.polri.go.id- Semarang. The Central Java Regional Police distributed 39,000 food packages, targeting underprivileged communities affected by the implementation of the emergency Community Activity Restrictions. Some of the recipients of the basic food packages include pedicab drivers, street vendors (PKL) and motorcycle taxi drivers.
Central Java Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Ahmad Luthfi said the assistance provided to communities affected by the emergency Community Activity Restrictions policy was to be able to reduce the burden on underprivileged families. He said the statement on the sidelines of providing assistance in Demak Regency, Monday (07/19).
The Regional Police Chief explained that one of the aids distributed was in the form of 231,000 kilograms of rice. The goal is that the community during the implementation of the emergency Commmunity Activity Restrictions could still meet their daily needs.
According to the Central Java Regional Police Chief, the distribution of basic food packages to the underprivileged also shows the presence of the state in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic which has not subsided.
“All regional police in Central Java are doing the same thing. For what purpose, reduce the burden on our affected communities or those who are isolating at home or centrally. Those affected are people who have implications related to other community activities. We share a little from the government, in order to channel assistance to our affected communities. So, it doesn't feel like we share COVID-19 together," said the Central Java Regional Police Chief.
In addition, the Central Java Regional Police Chief explained that the distribution of basic necessities was also a manifestation of the Police's concern for helping affected communities. In particular, people who cannot meet their daily food needs.
