Inp.polri.go.id - Palangka Raya. The Central Kalimantan Police Chief Inspector Generall Nanang Avianto took a helicopter to monitor the forest and land fires occurring in various locations within the province.
"Forest fires are currently widespread in Central Kalimantan. We're conducting aerial surveillance to pinpoint affected areas," he stated on Monday (2/10/2023), as reported by antaranews.com.
Joining the aerial surveillance were Operation Bureau Head Senior Superintendent Tory Kristianto, Security and Intelligence Head Senior Superintendent Ajie Indra Dwi Atma, and Public Relations Unit Head Senior Superintendent Erlan Munaji.
The surveillance aims to map the most impacted areas for efficient deployment of personnel to combat fires in Palangka Raya City, Pulang Pisau Regency, and East Kotawaringin Regency, said Spokesperson Erlan.
He called on local residents to not hesitate to report any suspicious individuals intentionally setting fires. If anyone is caught deliberately starting fires, they will be dealt with firmly in accordance with the applicable laws.
