Inp.polri.go.id - Banjarmasin. Deputy Chief of the of Indonesia National Police (INP) Commissioner General Agus Andrianto has instructed regional police to support micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to enhance the local economy.
"During the past pandemic, SMEs have proven to be able to survive and support the community's economy, and we must support their existence," he said while inspecting a SMEs bazaar the South Kalimantan Regional Police in the courtyard of the Sultan Suriansyah Building in Banjarmasin, on Monday (2/10/2023).
The INP Deputy Chief praised the South Kalimantan Regional Police and the local police precincts for their efforts in assisting SMEs, particularly in expanding marketing through bazaars and other innovative activities, antaranews.com reported.
Some of the 38 entrepreneurs participating in the bazaar were under the supervision of the Bhayangkari, the organization ofthe wives of INP officers, in South Kalimantan.
During the event General Agus distributed 10,090 social assistance packages to less fortunate individuals as well as 40 prizes for the less fortunate people attending the event.
The Chief of the South Kalimantan Regional Police, Inspector General Andi Rian Djajadi, said that the activities to assist SMEs and less fortunate individuals will continue to be intensified as part of the "cooling system" strategy, involving various approaches to the community in the lead-up to the 2024 elections.
"I instruct the local police chiefs to innovate and take concrete actions to assist the community while incorporating messages on security and peaceful elections. The hope is that this region will always remain conducive," he said.
