inp.polri.go.id – In preventing the outbreak of Mouth and Nail Disease (FMD) in livestock, the Central Lampung Police continue to provide assistance and supervision in handling FMD in Gunung Sugih Raya Village, Gunung Sugih District, Central Lampung District, Sunday (10/7/22).
The Central Lampung Police Chief, AKBP Doffie Fahlevi Sanjaya, S.I.K., M.Sc., gave a direct order to the Sector Police Headquarters to provide assistance and supervision of FMD and coordinate with the Livestock, Plantation & Fisheries Service to prevent FMD outbreaks in livestock in the jurisdiction of the Central Lampung Police.
In response to this, the Gunung Sugih Police Chief AKP Wawan Budiarto through members of the Bhayangkara security unit, helped the handling of FMD for the farmers.
His party explained that the purpose of the activity was an anticipatory step to prevent the transmission of FMD at the Central Lampung, especially at the Gunung Sugih.
"The provision of disinfectant in the pen is an effective step to prevent the virus," added the Gunung Sugih Police Chief.
The mild symptoms and characteristics of animals affected by FMD include mild blisters on the nail gaps, lethargy, having no appetite, and excessive drooling. While the severe symptoms are blisters on the nails that fall off, limping, unable to walk and the animals are very thin.
"If you found FMD symptoms in your livestocks, please immediately report it to the village apparatus or officers in the field for further handling by the District Livestock Service Office," said Gunung Sugih Police Chief.
This activity will continue to be carried out so that the public can understand the symptoms of livestock that suffer from Mouth and Nail Diseases, as well as understand how to prevent and treat the livestock ahead of the Eid al-Adha.
