inp.polri.go.id - Nabire. The Central Papua Regional Police continues to demonstrate its commitment to supporting the national food security program.

This was demonstrated through the corn harvest in the second quarter of 2026, held in Lagari Jaya Village, Makimi District, Nabire Regency.

The harvest was led by the Regional Supervision Inspector of Central Papua Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Gatot Suprasetya, along with senior officials from the Central Papua Regional Police, local government officials, relevant stakeholders, community leaders, and local farmer groups.

On that occasion, Gatot stated that the agricultural sector is one of the focuses of police's support in assisting the government in maintaining food security, particularly through the development of corn commodities in Central Papua.

According to him, the success of the food security program cannot be achieved alone but requires collaboration between officials, the government, and the community, especially farmers.

“Collaboration from all parties is key to ensuring the optimal implementation of this food security program and providing tangible benefits to the community," he said on Monday (5/18/2026).

The corn harvest in Lagari Jaya Village took place on approximately one hectare of land, with an estimated yield of three tons.

This production is expected to help meet food needs while improving the welfare of local farmers.
