Chief of National Police, Police General Lisyto Sigit Prabowo, received a visit from President Director of Freeport Indonesia Ltd., Tony Wenas and his staff in Headquarters of Indonesian National Police (24/5/2021). According to Sigit, the Indonesian government commits to developing Papua. Many policies are implemented to improve Papuan's life quality, such as health, education, infrastructure, and popular economy. "The hope is how all Papuans can feel the programmes", Sigit said. The number one person at the Bhayangkara Corps also hopes for a cooperation programme with Freeport Indonesia through combined existing programmes such as Binmas Noken (Noken Community Development Unit). "Everyone can participate in developing Papua, including Freeport", he said. Meanwhile, Tony Wenas expresses his gratitude for the available time to visit the police corps. He adds that the police's support in maintaining peace in Papua has been extraordinary, proven by the existence of Amole and Nemangkawi Task Forces. "A while ago, police also solves pipe and solar theft case at our harbour warehouse. We appreciate National Police because they help the security in Papua, mainly in Freeport's complex", Tony said.
