Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesia’s junior badminton team failed to defend its Suhandinata Cup title, losing 0–2 to China in the 2025 BWF World Junior Mixed Team Championships final in Guwahati, India, on Saturday (11/10/2025).
“We gave our best, but China proved stronger with their consistency and depth across all doubles sectors,” said Rinjani Kwinnara Nastine, who played in both the women’s and mixed doubles matches, as quoted by antaranews.com.
Indonesia, the 2024 defending champion, fought hard but could not overcome the dominance of China’s 2025 Asian Junior champions. The women’s doubles pair Riska Anggraini/Rinjani Kwinnara narrowly lost 8–9, while the mixed doubles duo Ikhsan Lintang Pramudya/Rinjani fell 15–18 after leading early.
China’s Liu Si Ya and Liu Yang Ming Yu later sealed victory in the singles matches, confirming China’s return to the top of junior badminton.
The result marked China’s continued supremacy in world junior badminton, while Indonesia aims to rebuild ahead of the 2026 edition.
