Inp.polri.go.id - Denpasar. State electricity company PT PLN has identified a drop in feeder load as the likely cause of Friday’s one-hour power outage at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali.
The blackout occurred between 6.13 pm and 7.18 pm local time, disrupting several airport services.
“Our monitoring team detected a decrease in load on two feeders supplying the international terminal,” said Eric Rossi Priyo Nugroho, the General Manager of OT PLN’s Bali Distribution Unit, on Saturday (11/10/2025). “We immediately dispatched field teams and coordinated with airport management to restore supply.”
By 9 pm, electricity across the airport was fully restored and operating normally. PT PLN confirmed no broader grid disruption occurred but pledged tighter coordination to prevent future incidents.
Airport General Manager Ahmad Syaugi Shahab apologized for the inconvenience, noting that manual check-in procedures were temporarily implemented during the outage. An assessment of flight delays is underway.
