Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  A Chinese man was detained after seizing a police vehicle and crashing it into a utility pole in Senen, Central Jakarta, early Thursday morning (10/7/2025).

The incident occurred at around 3 am, following a traffic accident in the area. While officers were responding, the suspect, reportedly intoxicated, entered and drove off with the police vehicle, Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police Deputy Traffic Director Superintendent Argo Wiyono said.

"As the officer stepped out to handle the traffic incident, the suspect took the car and drove it while intoxicated," he said, as quoted by antaranews.com.

The vehicle was later found crashed into a utility pole nearby. The suspect was immediately arrested and is under investigation. Police have not yet released his identity.
