Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesia and Qatar are moving forward with plans to deploy Indonesian migrant workers in sectors including healthcare, hospitality, and information technology (IT).
The agreement was discussed in Jakarta on Thursday (10/7/2025) between Minister for Migrant Worker Protection Abdul Kadir Karding and Qatar’s Deputy Minister of Labor Sheika Najwa binti Abdulrahman Al Thani.
“We are confident this cooperation will ensure better protection and opportunity for Indonesian workers in Qatar,” Minister Karding said, as quoted by antaranews.com, highlighting Qatar’s strong labor protections and ILO ratifications.
The two sides also proposed integrating labor data systems to ensure transparency and traceability of migrant worker records.
A joint task force will soon be formed to finalize technical details and implementation.
Qatar welcomed the partnership, noting that it would strengthen its labor market with skilled and certified Indonesian workers.
