Inp.polri.go.id - Ciamis. The Ciamis Sub-regional Police in West Java launched a public service initiative called the Bhabinkamtibmas community policing Driver's License (SIM) program to bring licensing support closer to village residents.
"This innovation aims to bring services closer to the public and deliver transparent, accountable, fast, easy, and extortion-free assistance," said Ciamis Police Chief Superintendent Eko Iskandar on Monday (5/10/2026).
Under the program, local Bhabinkamtibmas community policing officers provide village-level theoretical and practical driving instruction to help residents prepare for official testing at the Ciamis Police SIM Administration Unit (Satpas).
Authorities clarified that standard testing requirements remain strictly enforced, while illegal fee collection and illegal brokering are prevented by requiring applicants to pay non-tax state revenue) fees directly at official bank counters.
