Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Heavy rainfall caused the Ciliwung River to overflow, submerging 28 neighborhoods in South Jakarta and East Jakarta, the Jakarta Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) confirmed Monday (3/3/2025).
"As of 4 am, flooding has affected 28 neighborhood units," said BPBD Jakarta’s Head of Data and Information Center, Mohamad Yohan, as quoted by antaranews.com.
The flooding resulted from rising water levels in Ciliwung rivers due to continuous rain on Sunday. The Katulampa Dam in Bogor, West Java, reached alert level 3 at 8.20 pm, level 2 at 8.40 pm, and the highest alert level 1 at 9:.0 pm.
Similarly, Depok's monitoring post escalated from alert level 3 at 9.40 pm to level 1 by 12.30 am. Angke Hulu’s post recorded level 3 at 11 pm, leading to flooding in several Jakarta areas.
