Jakarta - The Government, Indonesian National Armed Forces, Indonesian National Police and related agencies held a cross-sectoral Coordination Meeting to discuss the anticipation of a potential spike in Covid-19 during Christmas 2021 and New Year 2022 celebrations at the Indonesian National Police Headquarters, South Jakarta, Friday (26/11/2021). On this occasion, Chief of Indonesian National Police, Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, emphasized that, as instructed by Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). Inter-agency coordination is essential to maintain the positive trend Covid-19 growth rate, which is now well controlled. So, when entering Christmas and New Year's holidays, there is no spike. "As ordered by the President in the last meeting, preparations for the possible growth rate of Covid-19 at Christmas and New Year must be anticipated. So that coordination steps are taken with all parties," said Sigit in a cross-sectoral coordination meeting. According to Sigit, Indonesia is currently ranked first in handling and controlling Covid-19 in Southeast Asia based on the Nikkei Index. Not only that, based on the United States Centers for Disease Prevention (CDC), Indonesia is included in the Covid-19 green zone category with a case transmission rate of level 1, so it is safe to visit. The former Chief of Banten Regional Police said that apart from being an achievement for the Government, it was also the result of the hard work of all related parties and elements of society. If this positive trend can be maintained during Christmas and New Years’ time, Sigit said, it could further stimulate Indonesia's economic growth. Given, in future, Indonesia will hold national and international agenda events, which will revive the economic sector of the Indonesian people. Therefore, Sigit hopes that the success of National Sports Week in Papua, the International Policewomen Conference in East Nusa Tenggara and World Superbike in West Nusa Tenggara can occur in other future agendas. "This is our essential capital to continue to maintain the pace of Covid-19 growth. With these numbers, economic growth can grow. Therefore, how do we maintain the Christmas and New Year activities we will face in the next few days. The future remains under control. All the experiences that have been used so far must be used as lessons for all of us, "said Sigit. When giving directions, Sigit emphasized that all parties must be vigilant and prepare anticipation for prevention in districts that have the potential to increase the current Covid-19 growth rate. The reason is, Sigit received a report from the Ministry of Health regarding an increase in the number of coronavirus in 17 districts. "This temporary battle we won, but the struggle is not over. I think the numbers have decreased at this time, but without us realizing it, there has been an increase, said the Minister of Health for 17 districts. So, on the one hand, the assessment is the success of all of us. But on the one hand, we must be aware that with the Micro Restriction level, there will be a decrease in mobility, "said the former Head of the Criminal Investigation Agency of the Indonesian National Police. To anticipate the rate of growth of Covid-19 during Christmas and New Year, Sigit has provided strategies and instructions to all levels to prevent the rate of growth of Covid-19 during Christmas and New Year. Among them is the strategy of handling from upstream and downstream. Then, strict supervision of health protocol in all sea, air, and land transportation modes. According to Sigit, the strategy to anticipate the prevention of the Covid-19 growth rate will be applied in Lilin Operations to oversee the Micro Restriction Level 3 policy during Christmas and New Year. "To anticipate Christmas and New Year, the police will carry out Lilin Operations. But of course, it will be adjusted to government policies. Of course, the Indonesian National Police will start one week before and one week after Micro Restriction Level 3 is implemented to reduce the transmission of Covid-19 numbers," said Sigit. Regarding the strategy for handling upstream to downstream, Sigit explained to apply a scenario of tightening health protocol starting from pre-departure to destination locations for people who continue to go home through the Micro Restriction Command Post starting from the Neighbourhood/Hamlet level. Residents who have to travel must include a homecoming certificate, two vaccine certificates, and the Antigen Swab or PCR results. The Indonesian National Police, said Sigit, have also prepared posts that will be used for public vaccination. But, there is also a place that is prepared to carry out quarantine if residents are found whose swab results are positive. "We have prepared a service post to carry out vaccinations when there are people who have not been vaccinated. To help people who have not been vaccinated, this is our strategy. A quarantine post is also prepared if the Swab is declared reactive and the PeduliLindungi application is black so that a temporary quarantine is carried out," said Sigit. The police will also establish a post for Checkpoint to ensure that health protocols are running well to suppress the spread of Covid-19. At the airport, the police will also increase the supervision of travelers from abroad to prevent the entry of new variants of Covid-19. The next strategy is, Sigit emphasized, the Indonesian National Armed Forces-Indonesian National Police and all elements of society will continue to accelerate the acceleration of vaccination to achieve President Jokowi's target of 70 per cent by the end of the year. "This means that there are steps that we need to take to anticipate the achievement in November and in December of at least 70 per cent. So for areas below the national average, special steps are needed, and we all pay attention. We hope that this vaccination acceleration is carried out before the Lilin Operation is carried out to keep the vaccination running and the health protocol going well," said Sigit. Sigit also appealed for Christmas celebrations to be carried out by using online or virtual methods. Or if it is carried out offline, the excellent capacity is only 50 per cent attended. Not only that but the PeduliLindungi application must also be installed in houses of worship. Meanwhile, apart from being installed with Care for Protection, vaccination and quarantine posts must also be provided for shopping centers or malls. Meanwhile, this can be done at tourist attractions using the One Gate System, and there is also a vaccine post and quarantine. On the same occasion, the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, Muhadjir Effendy hopes that the Indonesian National Armed Forces-Indonesian National Police will continue to be at the forefront in anticipating the growth rate Covid-19. "The Indonesian National Armed Forces-Indonesian National Police are very compact. We have to maintain economic growth. Covid-19 also has to improve the economic slope," said Muhadjir.
