Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed Sunday (30/11/2025) that the number of Indonesian citizens killed in the massive fire at Wang Fuk Court, Tai Po, Hong Kong, has risen to nine.
“Two additional fatalities and one more injured Indonesian have been verified based on data released by Hong Kong Police,” the ministry spokesperson, Yvonne Mewengkang, said, as reported by antaranews.com
The updated figures were issued by Hong Kong authorities at 12.20 pm local time. Three Indonesians survived but sustained injuries. The fire, which erupted on 26 Novembe 2025r, has claimed more than 128 lives, injured 79 people, and left hundreds missing. Eleven persons have been detained in connection with the case.
The Indonesian Consulate General in Hong Kong has formed a family coordination team to assist in the repatriation process and provide updates to relatives of the victims. Several Indonesian victims have been identified, while others may require DNA samples from families. The timeline for repatriation remains uncertain as identification efforts continue.
