inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Vice Minister of Home Affairs Bima Arya Sugiarto in his statement emphasized that digitalization of government is vital in creating an efficient, transparent, and participatory bureaucracy.
He said that digital transformation in government is not only about the use of technology, but also the transformation of work culture and bureaucratic governance. Digitalization allows for time and cost efficiency, opens access to information for the public in real time, and increases public participation in the decision-making process.
In his presentation, Bima revealed that the government has prepared various digital roadmaps to ensure that public services run efficiently, accountably, and inclusively. With this system, the central and regional governments are expected to be digitally integrated in one public service ecosystem.
According to him, digitalization is not enough to be supported by the existence of sophisticated technology, but also needs to be supported from the aspect of education and evaluation. "So the ecosystem is built as a whole," he said in the National Public Lecture themed "Digital Government Transformation Towards Golden Indonesia 2045" at Pasundan University (Unpas), Bandung City, West Java, Wednesday (6/4/2025).
He added that the government has implemented a Digital Population Identity (IKD) system which aims to integrate various government services into one digital platform. This will make it easier for the public and increase the accountability of the apparatus.
He also encouraged regional governments to adapt more quickly to digital changes and not be left behind by technological developments.
Bima said that one of the main goals of digitalization is to minimize the room for abuse of authority while accelerating public services. He gave examples of the success of several regions in implementing an integrated digital service system as real evidence of the benefits of digitalization.
He shared his experience when he was Mayor of Bogor. At that time, he encouraged the openness of the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD) so that the public could monitor the use of the budget directly.
"I convey to all heads of departments that tomorrow we will open the APBD to the public. So if the public found anything strange, please take the responsibility," said Bima.
