Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police is set to implement situational traffic diversions to secure the "Harmoni Imlek Nusantara" Lunar New Year parade held at Lapangan Banteng, Central Jakarta, on Sunday.
To ensure public safety and smooth mobility, authorities deployed 150 traffic specialists and 600 regional officers to manage the festive crowds. The parade route, spanning from Jalan Katedral to Lapangan Banteng, features cultural attractions including lion dances and police equestrian units.
"If the parade causes congestion, we will facilitate temporary diversions; once the procession passes, traffic flow will be normalized immediately," said Senior Inspector Robby Hefados, the Head of Operational Development at the Metro Jaya Police Traffic Directorate, on Saturday (28/2/2026), as cited by antaranews.com.
The event, expected to be attended by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, coincided with the holy month of Ramadan, symbolizing interfaith harmony. Police have designated several parking pockets around the venue to accommodate the thousands of visitors attending the national celebration.
