Inp.polri.go.id – East Java. The Office of Military Police Sub-detachment I of East Java Regional Police exploded at around 10.19 am. The explosion reportedly was originated from the explosive materials that were about to be destroyed. The East Java Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Imam Sugianto explains there are no fatalities of the incident, however the explosion has severely damaged several vehicles and buildings. “Our Bomb Difusal unit do not have their own standardized warehouse. So the left-over explosive materials were stored beside their office and just this morning they were exploded,” explained the police chief during press conference on Monday (3/4/2024). According to the police chief, currently the forensic laboratory team is working on the case to find the truth behind it. In addition, the Gegana team and the Criminal Investigation Unit of Tanjung Perak are also dispatched to investigate the case. “The bomb is considered to be low explosive,” conclude the police chief.
