Inp.polri.go.id - Sangatta. The East Kutai Sub-regional Police and the Sangatta Customs Office destroyed thousands of illegal goods seized during joint enforcement operations in Sangatta, East Kalimantan, on Tuesday (9/6/2026).
"The East Kutai Police fully support Customs in monitoring, enforcing, and destroying illegal goods," Said East Kutai Police Chief Superintendent Fauzan Arianto. "This activity is a tangible form of state presence in protecting the community from goods that do not comply with legal provisions."
The destroyed items, confiscated throughout 2025 across 21 enforcement actions, included 112,920 illegal cigarette sticks and 45 bottles of illicit alcohol. The total value of the seized goods reached Rp172,761,800, which potentially could have caused Rp112,314,016 in state financial losses.
Chief Fauzan urged the public to refrain from buying or distributing illegal commodities and to report any illicit distribution networks to law enforcement.
