Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  The Ministry of Education and Culture is preparing approximately 4,000 teacher candidates to meet the demand for 1,514 teaching positions across 100 Sekolah Rakyat school locations this year.

“For the Sekolah Rakyat to be established in 100 locations, the estimated teacher need is 1,514. We are preparing three times that number to be selected by the Ministry of Social Affairs,” said Nunuk Suryani, the Director General of Teachers, Education Personnel, and Teacher Education, on Wednesday (4/6/2025),  

These candidates are fresh graduates with teaching certification but have not yet been placed in schools, as reported by antaranews.com.

The Education Ministry will not redistribute currently employed teachers to avoid disrupting ongoing school programs. 

Selected teachers will live in dormitories to support students from low-income families. Sekolah Rakyat aims to open in July 2025, targeting children from the poorest households classified under the national socioeconomic data system.
